A floating fishing village in Cambodia

It occurs to me that I did not post about our second day in Seim Reap. We went to very cool floating village. This village is out on a lake so when the fishing becomes more sparse, they simply head out to another part of the lake. When we visited it was getting to be the end of the dry season so the lake and the canal leading to it were a mere shadow of its size when it's the wet season. People live, farm, go to school, and raise livestock on these floating platforms. We even went to a floating crocodile farm. They raise the crocs for their hide as well as their meat.

The school

A typical home. I particularly like the fact that they all have electricity to power their TV's and fans

The canoes they use for fishing

Here's one of my favorite signs. Keep the country clean, seriously!!!!  Cambodia is filthy. They throw their garbage wherever they wish. It always amazed me in these Southeast Asian countries all the endless piles of garbage. The piles are next to homes and businesses and in the streets. I am flabbergasted that there are not more diseases in these countries.

This blog is out of sync but I had to share
