Dalian, China

Trying something new. I am going to try blogging on my phone. This way I can post pics, I hope. But it is so much harder to type on a phone than my iPad.

Dalian is a city of 17 million people. There are no small cities in China. But this was a fun excursion. We had two guides, Circle and Sweet Water. Two lovely young women.

Our first stop was a home visit. Rich and I were sent to two different homes. This Happened because we both like window seats and we were sitting a couple of rows apart and when they counted us out we for separated. Oh well.
My family was an elderly couple. They lived in a two bedroom fly on third floor. No elevator. This was definitely a lower middle class home.

They were So hospitable. They served us fruit, sweets, veggies, and tea I  sorry I had had lunch. The tea was yummy and I had the most Delicious cookie. Then we talked through a translator. They were just as interested in us as we were on them. They wanted to know where we were from, what we had some for a living, how many kids, and grandkids we had. We wanted to know why life was like in China during the cultural revolution and how it compares to now. Needless to say, they like life now mich better. 25 years ago they had no electricity or heat and they slept 5 to a bed. Wow, just imagine that.

Here are some pics, I hope.
