I decided to take the shuttle into town. I needed a white tshirt or tank top. I specifically asked the excursion leaders if there was a shopping mall where the shuttle left off, can you see where I'm going with this? I was told yes. 40 minutes later I'm told I have to take the sky train into Bangkok to get to the mall. First, I'm alone, Rich didn't want to go shopping. Secondly, I have no baht, the local currency. So I wander off to see if maybe, just maybe I can find a mall
Nope, I did learn however, that it is very difficult to cross a street in Bangkok. Just because I have the green light doesn't mean traffic had to stop for me. I almost got hit by two cars and three motorcycles. I did wonder why all the pedestrians had run across the street. It's to avoid those two cars and three motorcycles.
So I made it back to pick up the bus and low and behold I missed the bus by 1 stinking minute. So I got to sit all by myself for an hour in the Bangkok bus station.
Great trip. 80 minutes on a bus, an hour in a bus station, and no top.
Thank heavens the evening went much better. We were taken to a lovely hotel for drinks, dinner, a puppet show, Thai music, traditional Thai dancing, and fireworks. More than made up for the shopping mall disaster.
A lovely trio
The musicians
The male puppet
The female puppet
The fireworks

You are either incredibly brave or foolhardy....not sure which. Thankfully you made it back safely. Don't they sell tops on the ship?? Enjoying your tales. Sandi and Kim
